Reiki, an Instrument for the Return to our Spiritual Divinity

In the courses of Reiki that I teach I explain in very simplistic terms about how we move away from our spiritual truth and divinity with our emotions and our thoughts. These emotions and thoughts are considered to be either responding in to life or reacting out of it. They are our Yes's and No's to the circumstances life has brought to us. We create our reality with our minds. So actually we bring these life circumstances to ourselves to help us wake up and to come back into our spiritual center. Reiki energy also helps us to return to our spiritual center point and to the experience of the resulting peace when we have essentially come back home in ourselves.

This movement away from our spiritual center also defines our ego. Our reactions and responses in life actually define who we are. Our ego is the part of us that constantly creates us being separate from all others. In our first movement away from our spiritual center, we then start the process of self- definition and begin the journey away from our spiritual source. Because all people are in this same process we may start to experience problems because our truth may not necessarily be their truth. All individual beings are on their own journey of the self. We often times become very fixed in our belief and will defend our truth at all costs. This is also the reason for hatred, prejudice and yes, even war.

I was one of the people who have received many calls to wake up in her life in order to move me away from the pattern of reaction that I had in place. This pattern was my truth as I created it. This truth was not coming from the center of my spiritual essence rather the place or foundation I had built MY truth on which was away from it. My thoughts and emotions helped me to construct all my very good reasons for not trusting people or life to fully support and respect me; after all I did not respect or value myself.

For a moment let us think of ourselves like a bottle. When we are born our bottle is filled with spiritual essence or light. As we move away from our spiritual center to establish our new truth we move away from the light. Our reactions are denser energy than light so they fall to the bottom of our bottle like sediment. The more reaction we have means the more sediment fills our bottle. It could be said we are in a process of being in the darkness of our reactions.

Our eternal search for the light, to be in the light of who we are is one of remembering we are light and not separated from each other. This "moment" of remembering can occur in several ways in our church, a life transforming moment, or during an initiation to the Reiki energy. These are just some of those ways to wake up to our divinity, our spiritual truth. We are re introduced to light or unconditional love. This is a spiritual moment. Light, which has a much finer vibration, comes into our bottle and reaches the sediment we have stored there. It brings this up to the top to wash over, making more room in our bottle for the light to remain. In this awakening moment we are in our light and the spiritual truth of who we are. This experience helps to strengthen us to continue the return home.

I see our life's journey as this. We come from the light, we move away from it and then search for it again. Only we usually end up searching for it in other people and places. I am reminded of a story of the angels who were in charge of hiding our light. One angel said I know where we will put it. We will place it on the highest mountaintop that will make it hard to find. One of the other angels said, NO, that will be too easy, we should put it in the deepest part of the sea, that will make it harder to find. Then the last angel said. I have given this much thought and knowing humans as I do, I would suggest we simply put it inside their hearts, they will never look there.

Loving through the compassionate heart we find what we have longed search for, ourselves. In the center is love and in the center is Reiki.
