Choosing
the Sacred Path
Human existence is sacred because our intelligence is naturally
attuned, deep within ourselves to the power and magic of the natural
order, this pattern connects heaven and earth. We intuitively
know that this universal energy is wholesome and life promoting,
and we can distinguish it from that which is corrupt and life
negating. When we appreciate the simple beauty and power at work
in all of creation and choose to live in alignment with that larger
vision, we tap into our basic human wisdom. We discover sacred
vision.
Love has sacred power not because it makes us high, allowing
us to rise above ordinary life on clouds of blissful glory, but
because it helps us to relax the struggle between the self and
the ego which is the root of all human suffering. Love is profound
because it roots us to the earth, shining light on all the different
aspects of who we are, including those parts we would rather not
have to look at. The profound question love asks is “ Can
you face you life without love?” Can you face your life
as it is and look at all the pain and darkness as well as the
power and light in the human soul and still say , Yes? Love is
vast because it makes us want to keep growing without limit, to
nourish the expansion of our awareness, courage and compassion.
Life's ordinary magic lies right in front of us when we relate
fully and directly to things as they are.
Sacred outlook is born in moments when our familiar ways of looking
at things start to break down, when we are lifted out of ourselves
and freed from single-eyed vision. At such times we suddenly have
a chance to see without filters, and to enlarge our capacity for
relating to life as a whole.
Opening our hearts to love is also an invitation to open ourselves
to the sacred play of the known and the unknown, the seen and
unseen. The power of the heart and mind can then work together
to experience the sacredness and the mystery of life.
In the study of mysticism the mind is stimulated into a deep
and often mysterious path. It is the path of becoming enlightened.
While bringing light to the mind in the form of spiritual initiations
an integration needs to take place not just in the mind and body
of the person, but in the heart and soul as well. If the messages
of the mystics are to be truly understood and enacted in our daily
lives i.e. bringing the mysticism to the light of day, and living
our deepest spiritual convictions, it must take place through
the heart. For in opening the heart to love, you also open the
mind to a deeper and more profound experience of the self and
it's relationship to the whole.
I was teaching in Poland at a Spiritual community. The head of
the organization was gifted with so many psychic abilities. He
could see the blood, the cells in the body and look at the development
of the soul seeing what was ahead for the person. His mind was
full of so much knowledge, and he directed energy for the patients
healing. After taking part in a Reiki seminar he came to his students
and said " I have thought I have understood about the great
mysteries of life. I have experienced mysticism and occult magic,
both black and white. I have been at the side of the great teachers
and had many spiritual initiations, but until this day I have
never truly known love. Reiki is love, and has given me the ability
to really know the truest meaning of the mystics. The natural
order of all things and to see all people with new eyes."
Reiki is universal unconditional love. It is this love that opens
us to the deepest mystery of all. It is this love that helps us
to see our world and all that is in it without the filter in place.
It is this love that enables us to take what mysticism has given
us to understand, and to bring it into a knowing that is held
and grows deep in our hearts and souls. It is this love that integrates
all knowledge and allows us to bring this into our awakened spiritual
essence and to experience the oneness that is born out of Love.
On the path of enlightenment, love is a key factor to the process.
With Reiki one can come into harmony, physically, emotionally,
mentally and spiritually. Reiki gives us the ability to be an
open and harmonized human being that takes in the mysteries of
life and walks on this earth in balance with all humanity and
humility.
