I have received many
letters from India this year. My book 'Practical
Reiki' is there and many are reading it. Recently I was sent
some questions by a second degree Reiki student. I thought they
were quite valid questions and have decided to share them with
you.
1. What is the source of Reiki - the Universal Life Force
Energy - as to where it comes from?
~ In my deepest feeling the energy comes from God by what ever
name he/she is called in different religions or the divine creative
source.
2. Is Reiki a complementary method or a supplementary
method of healing?
~ I would hold it as complementary. It with
all forms of harmonization.
3. Is it all right to combine Reiki with other methods
of healing?
~ Absolutely.
4. Does the Master transfer his/her weak and imbalanced
aura also?
~ No they do not. In fact the energy is available to the practitioner
and the Master first, It aids in the balancing of the giver, it
stays whole and then goes to the person receiving it.
5. Is distance attunement equally powerful?
~ Absolutely!
6. Does the flow of Reiki remain, even if one is not
practicing for a long time?
~ Yes, however I would recommend that all people giving Reiki
also work with themselves daily to stay in harmony. Reiki is for
your lifetime.
7. Normally when a Reiki practitioner is not able to
heal a disease, it is termed as karmic. How to know that the disease
is in fact karmic?
~ I would not say this at all. First of all we who give Reiki
are not healers, we transfer the energy as an instrument of the
energy, and the person receiving the energy is the one who heals.
All things are a result of a cause. So in essence all things are
Karma. I believe Karma is mis - understood. Karma is the law of
cause and effect. This law is in motion at all times.
8. Reiki under different names is being patented. Is
it justified?
~ If it is not called Reiki how do we know it is Reiki? There
are different streams of Reiki, all stream lead back to the source.
You can not patent Reiki; you can patent a logo. Reiki is a universal
word that has been used for over 100 years, It can not be patented.
9. Is it necessary to give Reiki on all the points? How
do we detect the source of the problem?
~ You do not need to detect the source of the problem as Reiki
works on all levels. The cause to any physical problem is in the
spiritual, emotional and mental levels. Reiki goes there with
out us directing. We are the instrument and are out of the way.
10. Many allopathic doctors have learned Reiki. Is there
any group of doctors who have learned Reiki, are doing research
in it, or have publicly vouched for Reiki?
~ Absolutely, there are many research projects going on. Many
have vouched for Reiki. I have taught many medical people Reiki
here and in other countries.
11. Does Reiki help in achieving clairvoyance?
~ Reiki does, it makes you more intuitive.
12. Does Reiki help in the awakening of Kundalini?
~ All will help with this however it is not the goal of Reiki
to re awaken the Kundalini energy. This is also supported with
good meditation and spiritual practice. It supports the process.
13. How far is Reiki helpful in rectifying the past life
Karma?
~ Because when a person is in harmony inside, their outside behavior
is in harmony which will aid in burning off past Karma. All works
for the benefit of the person receiving the energy for their highest
and greatest good. I actually believe that we need to be HERE
and NOW. This is the life we are given in this moment.
14. If a pregnant woman receives Reiki attunements, does
the child also get attuned automatically after birth?
~ No they do not. It is not the intention for this to happen.
Certainly the child is benefited by the mother's ability to give
this energy, so it will be in more harmony. A happy Reiki baby
who can be attuned after the age of three in my school of Reiki.
15. Can distance Reiki be channeled without the symbols?
~ The symbols are the bridge for the energy to travel over. I
believe that you can send love and light with intention. You always
send Reiki energy with the symbols. At least that is my experience.
16. Is Hun Yin position necessary for the Reiki Master
during the attunement process?
~ No it is not. It is part of several schools of Reiki in their
attunement process as a way to build and hold the energy. I have
done both and both work.
17. Recently Mr.Choa Kok Sui, a Pranic Healing Grand
Master of the Philippines, in a press meet on his visit to India
recently, reportedly explained the difference between Reiki &
Pranic healing as, "the same as a Mercedes & an old wheel
cart." Those of you, who practice both, Reiki and Pranic
healing please respond."
~ Mr. Chao Kok Sui is a Pranic healer who obviously feels he
has the Mercedes and it is far superior to anything else. This
is his truth. I have used both and I always return to Reiki as
it is empowering the person to be the healer. We are in an equal
relationship. Where as the healer Pranic or other wise is above
his client is better and he is needed to do. There is no eye to
eye, heart to heart relationship. This only empowers him. So in
my estimation it does not matter what car the system represents.
It is the benefit of the client that is important. I am humble
and blessed to transfer this energy. I am the silent witness to
their miracles. That to me could be a Rolls Royce.
It is my hope that all streams of Reiki can acknowledge the differences
in each other and celebrate the sameness. We can return to the
center where Usui is and also is the love and oneness of all.
